Beef Burger Avocado Bacon (Print Page)

A flavorful stacked beef patty with avocado, bacon, cheddar, and fresh toppings on a toasted bun.

# What You Need:

→ Beef Patties

01 - 1.1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
02 - 1 tsp salt
03 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
04 - 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

→ Toppings

05 - 1 large avocado, peeled, pitted, and sliced
06 - 8 slices beef bacon
07 - 4 slices cheddar cheese
08 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
09 - 1 large tomato, sliced
10 - 4 leaves romaine lettuce

→ Buns & Condiments

11 - 4 brioche burger buns, split
12 - 4 tbsp mayonnaise
13 - 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

# Directions:

01 - In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than the buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
02 - Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef bacon until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
03 - Grill or pan-sear the burger patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
04 - Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown and crispy.
05 - Spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the cut sides of the toasted buns.
06 - Build each burger by placing lettuce on the bottom bun, adding the beef patty with melted cheese, topping with avocado slices, beef bacon, tomato, and red onion. Cover with the top bun.
07 - Serve immediately while hot and crispy. Pairs well with sweet potato fries or a crisp lager.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The combination of creamy avocado and crispy beef bacon creates this perfect texture contrast that keeps every bite interesting
  • You get that gourmet burger experience without needing any fancy techniques or hard to find ingredients
02 -
  • Dont press down on your patties with the spatula while they cook, you are literally squeezing out all the juice and flavor
  • Let the burgers rest for a couple of minutes after cooking, this redistributes the juices so they stay in the meat instead of running out onto your plate
03 -
  • Mix a tablespoon of hot sauce into your mayonnaise mixture if you want to add some heat without overpowering the other flavors
  • If your brioche buns are fresh and soft, give them a quick toast even if the recipe does not call for it, it makes a huge difference in structural integrity
